Wide Variety of Probiotic Bacteria Found to Inhabit the Female Reproductive Tract
By Ross Pelton, RPh, CCN, PhD Scientific Director for Essential Formulas
A collaborative team of scientists from China, Norway and Denmark has discovered that the entire female reproductive tract contains a microbiome that is populated by a community of probiotic bacteria that is far more diverse than previously thought.
In their paper, which was recently published in the Journal Nature Communications, the scientists report the results of collecting samples from several parts of the reproductive tracts of 110 volunteer women. Samples of bacteria were collected from one or more parts of their reproductive tracts . Some of the samples were obtained during routine office visits, others during previously scheduled laparoscopy procedures.

Dr. Ohhira's Probiotic & Postbiotic Metabolites:
The New Frontier in Microbiome Science
By Ross Pelton, RPh, CCN, PhD
Scientific Director for Essential Formulas
We are incredibly proud to present EFI's Science Director Ross Pelton's new booklet, Dr. Ohhira's Probiotic & Postbiotic Metabolites: The New Frontier in Microbiome Science. We are offering our retailers complimentary issues of this informative booklet in digital or hard copy formats and are confident you will find it an exciting read and a valuable selling tool.
Ross Pelton has become a leading expert in "Postbiotic Metabolites" and has introduced and explained their amazing health benefits to health practitioners, industry leaders, and consumers. A pioneer in probiotic health and research, Dr. Ohhira proved over 40 years ago what science now confirms. The most vital and health-promoting aspect of probiotic supplementation is the restorative Postbiotic metabolites produced in his exclusive natural 3-year fermentation process.
A pronounced shift is taking place in microbiome science. Until recently, a large portion of scientific research was devoted to isolating, identifying, and naming different species of bacteria. In the new frontier of microbiome science, much more emphasis is being focused on identifying the compounds that various strains of bacteria produce, learning to understand the health-regulating effects of these compounds, and discovering which strains of bacteria are more efficient at producing these health-regulating compounds.
